The brief
The client wanted to make better use of their rear garden, the current garden was dominated by a big raised deck directly outside the patio doors which took up most of the garden, this meant they were very overlooked by the neighbouring properties.
Used materials
The design
To get around these design issues it was decided to drop the ground level down, under the original decking level, and the patio area was also re-positioned to the bottom and to the side of the property to maximise it's exposure to the sun. Canadian Oak Sleepers were used for the retaining walls that also incorporated raised beds that both overcame the level changes and enhanced the overall design. Storm Grey Indian sandstone paving was used throughout the garden helping to bring the new design together.
Outcome
The finished garden fully met and even exceeded the clients brief creating a private and usable space that enhances the whole property. They were over the moon with the end result, which was reflected in a 10/10 on Check a Trade review.
